United Kingdom 2012 Range Rover Sport SDV6 HSE Orkney Grey

We own both cars, V6 HSE3.0 and RRE Prestige SD4. I can honestly say after 6 mo bnths ownership of both, that whilst my wife loves her car, she's welcome to it. Uncomfortable seats, imo, very noisy, road noise, for a £43k car and nowhere near as comfortable.

the plus points for the RRE would be an outstanding ride for such a vehicle, with the Dynamic suspension upgrade, along with a smart looking interior and exterior. i'm not part of the 'it will age quickly' brigade as I believe it is one of the freshest designs around. I do however belive that the car is overpriced and that the residules will plummet over the next 12-18 months.

RRS everytime Wink

I'd like to keep the RRE too but my wife isn't all that keen on it. She prefers her Mini Cooper S!

The RRE's are great cars, no doubt, but the RRS does have more to it and does most things a little better it seems. I agree that the RRE is a bit overpriced for its size - but it is selling very well so can't see that changing for another year or so; then maybe there will be some decent discounts.

Maybe these cars are costing lots due to Vicki Beckham having some input into the interior. Someone has to pay for her thoughts Wink
Maybe if LR were to pay her more....... She may even smile........ Doubt it though. It is what it is and I am what I am....

I have just traded a Prestige Evoque for a 2011 RRS.

The main reason was space having two young children and found it quite tight for even general weekend use.

The main thing that I have felt after a week in the RRS is the feeling that it is an overall better quality product ie power delivery, smooth ride, quiet ie what I believed a Range Rover should be. I believe the Evoque is very good car but felt the time was right to change with the depreciation over 12,500miles very reasonable.

Hi Coolbanana

I can speak from experience, last week i picked up my new RR evoque, Prestige Lux, in Mauritius Blue paid £46K , I loved it so i thought, after driving 200 miles home things started to play on my mind, the drive was very skittish, it roared away at the lights, tech was great with dual view, pana roof but the seats after 400 miles were not comfortable, it felt like the seat was too small, no place to put your left foot (auto) at the lights i can feel the vibration from the engine, I went out on Sunday for a drive and popped into a local LR dealer, all the evoque's in the showroom felt the same seats too small, after much consideration, I chopped it in for a New Pre reg RRS Hse 3.0d, the difference is amazing, smooth, comfortable, a proper Range Rover. Consider it carefully, the lead times are dropping on the evoque 3 months, soon be discounting as LR will have over supply as they are @ 24/7 production runs. There are deals to be had on the RRS some pre reg stock flow about.
I am very pleased RRS over the evoque, Tesla Model Y - 2023

United Kingdom 2012 Range Rover Sport SDV6 HSE Orkney Grey

Cheer guys for the feedback, much appreciated Thumbs Up

I've bought an Orkney Grey MY12 SDV6 HSE with options being Sunroof, Adaptive Cruise, Premium Ice, Dual View, Privacy glass and Heated steering wheel.

It is used, indeed, it is the same age almost to the day as my Evoque and has done 200-odd less miles than my 5018 mile Evoque but it was a great deal.

So very happy and looking forward to getting my RRS next week Cool

United Kingdom 2011 Range Rover Sport 3.0 TDV6 HSE Luxury Zermatt Silver

Hi CoolBanana - a late reply as you have already made your decision (the right one in my opinion!)

I had a RRE Si4 for 4 months - great car, but after a while couldn't live with the engine/gearbox combination, also found it too small to be practical and felt the interior switches etc felt a little fragile....

....so in September I traded in for a 2011 RRS TDV6 HSE Luxury, dealer gave me pretty much the list price for the RERE (even with 9k on the clock)...

...Havent looked back since, the RRS is smooth, quiet, more economical, more luxurious inside, and an altogether better car to drive and place to be...unfortunately I was suckered into the RRE experience, when I should have brought the grown up option straight away!

You wont be dissapointed - my RRS is everything I want it to be and more, and will look at the new model when I come round to change again 2011 RRS - 3.0 TDV6 HSE Luxury - Zermatt Silver - Ebony Premium Leather with Ivory contrast Stitching

Hi Tim, cheers for your reply. Thumbs Up

I think I know what you mean re the gearbox/engine - to keep it relatively smooth and not hunting Sport mode needs to be engaged all the time. No terrible thing since it made no difference to fuel economy in my experience.

I liked my RRE - still do and it is still mine until next week - and while I thought the boot size was fine, clearly I could do with something a little larger. I have a roof box which helped but it isn't enough sadly. The rest of the car is large enough for us.

Now I'm looking forward to getting my RRS and hoping I won't be disappointed by it - short test drives don't always tell the whole story. I guess I'm looking for the ideal compromise between the Discovery 4 (space and off-road) and the Evoque (on road handling).

I need to re-organise my garage today to accommodate the new car - my Discovery 4 just fit so the RRS should too. Cool
