Was Harmon Kardon and the fridge optional extras at HSE level? What about heated seats and steering?

Enhanced stereo (logic 7) was an option but had to be fitted with DVD rear screen option. Fridge was standard on 2007 model but then became an option in late 2007 models. 2x TDV6. SE and HSE. Both returned to sender with issues👀

What about for '55 plate cars? Was thinking of buying one and wanted to know what are the must haves? |

My first car was an SE and was bog basic, when land rover replaced it I ordered an HSE and was different animal. Go for HSE with sat nav, nappa leather and dynamic ride as standard. Dealers will tell you that you don't get money back on extras, cow poo.... A basic car will never sell. 2x TDV6. SE and HSE. Both returned to sender with issues👀

I have a 2.7 55 hse. It has heated seats front and rear, Satnav, climate control, adaptive headlights, voice control, 19 inch alloys, harmon kardon stereo, all as standard I believe. No centre armrest fridge on mine though. Anything else you want to know please ask. Check if the cambelt has been changed, if not factor into the price, due at 7 years. |

Also, if you look on the 'parkers' website they give a comprehensive breakdown of spec of each model. Pretty accurate as far as I can tell |

Cam belt change seems to around £600 as part of the 7 year service, you may be able to get the belt alone changed for about £300. Check all electrics, parking sensor system, all door lock actuators work properly and the electronic handbrake isn't noisy. These are all problems I've had, not the end of the world but a bargaining tool if not correct. Also check that the suspension raises and drops relatively smoothly when operated, check the service history and if possible get the fault codes read. I love these cars but there is a lot to go wrong!! Finally I'd think about getting a warranty. Personally I bought privately so had no warranty, but took out the AA policy. It's by no means comprehensive but is good value for money, and I've already claimed a few times!! (alternator and parking brake). Other than that just take a good look at the vehicle, raise it to off road height, get underneath and have a look around for any damage, and check the bodywork carefully for any signs of damage repair. These cars are not cheap so it's worth taking your time, and there's plenty around for sale. |
