Probably a really stupid question (I'm good at those) but I've searched and can't find how to determine what MY my car is!! Funny reason but Autoglass have just been to replace my screen and they brought the wrong one as they said mine was a later screen (it has the VIN up the side rather than along the bottom).

Your VIN should be something like this: SALLSAA###A######

The numeral before the 'A' is the MY e.g. mine is '8' so I know it is a 2008 MY. Being Land Rover of course they start their model year in Q4 so it is possible to have a 2007 manufactured car which is a 2008 MY.

Well that VIN checker tells me my car is a 1985 model year!!!! I'm pretty sure it isn't, or somebody has done a very clever conversion !!!!  MY12 RRS SDV6 HSE

oh dear. It works for my VIN but perhaps the later models have a different VIN system. Sure someone will be along in a minute to explain. 2008 MY Java Black TDV8 HSE

If the VIN goes up the screen then its a 12my onwards.

I found this out the hard way by getting a crack in mine when it was the first 12my that had arrived at the dealership.

Get them to order the screen from Land Rover using the VIN.
