Just changed from a tdv8 to a 3.0

As title just changed from a 2008 TDV8 to a 2010 3.0

Now to be honest because I was taking a company CH car & then selling my own it was not really a change I was looking forward to or intended to do for sometime.

I loved my TDV8 the power the drive, it had just done 54k miles & was everything I wanted.

Have I got to eat some humble pie, I much prefer the interior of the 2010 & was I shocked by the engine.

It is much better than I expected / remembered from the previous 2.7.

It actually is nearly as quick as the tdv8 & it feels a lot more refined although the car has done a comparative 52k miles.

Just to give some feedback if anyone is thinking of changing. Paul

Agree pjb Bow down

The 2.7 was underpowered and the dash looked cheap and nasty for a luxury car Sad

The 3.0 and new dash was a massive step forward hence I finally bought one Cool

Having driven the sdv6 I could not justify the cost to change although I did like the power boot and the paddle shift but did not notice any power difference - mind you I had been driving a 4.4 tdv8 vogue for a month beforehand Laughing

I daren't try one again though now I am finally happy with mine for the first time in 2 years Embarassed

Don't think disown, more question judgement lol. I test drove an SD having stepped out if my enhanced V8. I found it lacking and serious question it's ability to tow which is main reason for having a Sport. Like my previous v6's, they benifited hugely from a remap but never compared to effortless power of V8. It was for this reason I went for full fat V8, but would be interested to try a mapped SD. The gearbox is good though as are all the other changes just question land rovers wisdom of not bringing out a 4.4 tdv8 in sport models yet but I'm sure it will come. 2x TDV6. SE and HSE. Both returned to sender with issues👀
TDV8 Sport HSE...... Gone. Loved it but it didn't love me!!
Now rolling in MY10 Fullfat TDV8 Vogue. Slammed it to go round corners🙈
Cruising daily #56 mph in a Volvo V8. 😱

United Kingdom 2010 Range Rover Sport TDV8 HSE Santorini Black

I've been driving a 3.0 for 2 days as the V8 has gone in for some warranty work, I'm surprised how good it is but still prefer the V8, the 3.0 is rough on start up and it doesn't seem to have the smooth torque delivery of the V8. Just my thoughts though. 10 TDV8 Santorini

Whistle get a new interior TDV8? they're available up to 60 plate.

here's a quick summary:

2.7 TDV6 - pooh
3.0 TDV6 - considerable improvement, still pooh
3.0 SDV6 - really cooking now, probably not fair to call it pooh any longer
3.6 TDV8 - always has been ooo la laaaaaaa.

you're welcome Thumbs Up ============
2010 TDV8 HSE - ooo laa laaaaaaaaa
2007 TDV8 HSE - superb car and very reliable
============
2012 - dearly departed, sadly missed.. to return in late 2013 with a new TDV8!

just traded in my 58 plate hse tdv8 on 60k for an hse lux sdv6 3.0 on a 62.
what an improvement in the interior feel of quality.

love the gearbox and the engine feels ok, not as weedy as I thought it might becoming fromthe 3.6
it doesnt feel like it gives much away to the v8.

loved the v8 but so far very happy with the change

It's a wonder no one has managed to put the later trim into the earlier vehicles. In Spain - 2018 F Pace - Frightened away from the Sports due to crank failures
Gone - A couple of RRS, A couple of Disco's. However thinking of another Sport.

Question it's ability to tow??? Laughing mine has been hitched up to horse boxes and you wouldn't know it was there!!! The difference in torque between the V8 and the 3.0v6 is about 30lb - not something you would notice!!
