Another New Car for Mrs VA

Mrs Va has decided she now wants to go topless after all! So the XC90 might be up for sale and we want to buy a 4 seat softtop (Mini too small - sorry!) So what would you wise men out there suggest at the £21,000 mark? 2005 Zambezi TDV6 - Gone but not forgotten
2009 Alaska TDV8 - Gone and much missed.

A4 Cabriolet - 4 seats and the best looking out there.

I've had 2.4v6 - 3.0 quattro - S4

I'd avoid the 1.8t

The 2.4 ok but sluggish - somewhat Confused

the 3.0l quattro would get my vote - unless you want to go all out for the S4 - and there are some great value ones out there

2013 Range Rover Sport SDV6 HSE Stornoway Grey

VW are about to launch a new thing called the Echo I think - coupe/cab Golf basically with a 2 piece folding hard top that seats 4. If she like Volvos then there is a nice new Volvo hard top convertable............. probably more than £21000 though. It's the wrong time of the year to be buying an open car VA, mid winter is the time. Martin has a nice 6 seater soft top Defender! 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it
2018 Melting Silver Mini Countryman PHEV - soon to be replaced
2015MY Corris Grey SDv6 HSE Dynamic, the best car I have ever owned, totally reliable only a cou0le of rattles in 3 years, now no longer in my care
Also in my garage is a 1996 TDi300 Defender 90 County HT made into a fake CSW

Just been having a look arounfd VA for you - a came across a nice 2005 missano red 2.4 s line with only 5000m and asking £24k

But you need to ask yourself - what colour does she want - does it need full leather - does she want full sat nav - how is she going to drive it ( slow or like james hunt )

Any questions just ask - I 've done the full course as far as A4 cabs go Wink

VA,... hahah.. Now whose the SKODA MAN!!!

Seriously though.. i actually have an A4 3.0Tdi quattro cab in my possession right now! its absolutely mint..
much better built convertible then the Bmw cab was (mine had a lot of rattles and suffered a lot of scuttle shake).. the engines are great, but echo what MDP says 1.8T wheelspins everywhere! but saying that can't you get a quattro one of them though?

Will post some pics of the cab i have right now.. nice colour, and turns more heads then the Bm used to..

Im trying to find a 2.5TDI one for a friend of mine, and you can't get anything for less then 20k right now, am waiting till oct/nov and will nail one for next summer, but they are a very desirable car and have a lot of people hankering after them.

I test drove a 2.4 and didn't like it for some reason, but it was the stupid salesman more then anything, was nice and smooth but no gruff and get up and go which the Bmw had. Saying that it was the Se, the S Line TDI i have right now, has a very petrol like exhaust note and a nice surging note to the engine.. highly reccomended..
