Having just taken my door cards off to " remove grandmas furniture" ie change the wood veneer I have noticed that after driving and the doors auto lock as normal...I now can't open the drivers door without unlocking it 1st... its not the end of the world but pretty annoying.

Might be worth taking the door card off again to make sure you didn't omit to re-connect one of the plugs or maybe one worked loose when you were re-fitting the card. I had my driver's door card off recently to change the lock latch and recall there were a lot of plugs - it's easy to miss one. Alternatively - the motors in the latch are known to be a bit flakey; (one of mine was) they don't stop working altogether - just don't exert enough torque to fully lock or unlock. Moving the door card probably would jiggle the lock mechanism and might have exacerbated the problem if it was developing? Good news is the latch is only about £40
P.S. I hate the 'grandma's furniture too'. Guess you had to change all four doors and the 'hockey sticks' but what did you go for? Carbon? 2008 MY Java Black TDV8 HSE

I was thinking that I maybe have not centralised the cam clip that attaches to the lock as all the rest are ok and the drivers was the first to be done.
I went for carbon and it looks real good just waiting on the black badges now to finish it off
