"Special Systems Off" - What's it mean ???

Hiya All

Every now and again, specially on Cold Mornings or when My 2005 RRS has been stood I get the Message "Special Systems Off" when I start using the car it's completely fine and everything works, as the the day goes on the message doesn't seem to appear again.

Like I said its seems to be on clod mornings or if I haven't used it for a while.

Please Help

Its because your battery is low on charge. If its the original battery, it could be a sign that it needs replacing sooner rather than waiting until the depths of winter when it takes your alternator out too... Thumbs Up Bodsys Brake Bible

Cheers.

So the Battery needs Changing ??? Wondered why the car seems to have to put a bit of effort in turning on first thing of a morning or on Cold Starts. Going on Holiday for a Fortnight in a weeks time and the car will be parked at the Airport, You advise I should change it before I go ????

Yes, and charge it fully also.

Another point, could be that you have an electrical drain on the car. Usual things to cause that are a failing starter motor (you say it's been struggling) or a failing alternator.
But battery is first port of call. Keep the old one for a while, just in case it is something else that 'may' fry the connected battery. Thumbs Up Bodsys Brake Bible

Well I wouldn't say struggling really just seems to start differently to the rest of the day if you know what I mean, you don't need to have the keey turned long for the car to turn over, just seems like a low battery like you say, for the rest of the day it is fine and the message doesn't appear

^^^ Also a battery drain could be the upper tailgate release switch that's become corroded Wink ON THE WAY: BMW F21 M140i
