It's a no brainer, A Range Rover Sport puts a smile on your face, not sure what you get with a Volvo. In Spain - 2018 F Pace - Frightened away from the Sports due to crank failures
Gone - A couple of RRS, A couple of Disco's. However thinking of another Sport.

I tend to agree with the have it now and enjoy it and sod the cost.... If You have to consider the costs or its going to worry you then you are looking at the wrong car !

I'm in two minds myself, i'm looking at the RRS in either 4.2s/c or TDV8 its roughly about 5k difference but i'm thinking the TDV8 might hold its value better

heart says sod it and get the s/c it can't be THAT bad on fuel lol yeh right

That's what I did, spend the 5k on fuel and smiles. TDV8 might hold its value better indeed but that won't be £5k for ever, I expect that over time, the difference will be much smaller.

Well i'm coming out of an M5 so used to an average MPG of 15 but was speaking to a friend yesterday who has the 2.7 and he had the s/c for a week and said it was horrendous on fuel

thing is i don't know exactly how bad the s/c is also which is more reliable

i do mainly town driving with a touch of motorway here and there

apologies for the thread hijack but didn't want to start a new one on the same topic

I've had mine four weeks and I do 30 or so miles a day, about half in town/traffic, the other half on motorway and have been averaging 17mpg so far. I don't have a particularly heavy foot since the traffic doesn't allow for it most of the time and don't usually drive like a lunatic, but on the odd occasion, the loud pedal's met with the carpet Wink

Soo long as you stick to 70, go above that speed (on a private road of course) and the range drops rapidly !

Only had it four weeks, so problems likely not to be representative however:
-New compressor + drier
-Passenger side windscreen trim needed new clips
-Two new parking sensors
-Air con regas
-One cracked alloy wheel
