Help needed.. Sold car and 1 x rear screen not working!

Hi,

I have just sold my car and the buyer wanted a full demo of the factory fit rear entertainment system.. Having never used it, I was surprised to find that the right hand screen doesn't work. When selected from the touch screen, it flickers into life but no picture appears.. The LH one works just fine...

Any suggestions re what I could check? I said I would get it sorted for him but wondered if it's something I could have a look at myself before parting with some cash at m local stealer...

Cheers,
James

Not trying to offend you but you have selected a source on the front touch screen,
The screens source independently left and right.
Also with a source selected wiggle the cable under the seat, I have come across damaged cables before now.
The cable can be bought as a spare from LR

No offence taken.. I have tried changing the source settings and nothing seems to work.. I will spend a little time 'wiggling' tomorrow. Fingers crossed!

Just reread your post that was the same fault as my friends 07 Sport took ages to find.
It was his seat cable it failed as the cable passed the hinge
Releasing the bottom of the seat is a pain, you have to force the trim apart I use a screw driver to start it
Separating.
If you end up changing the cable let me know there are a few does and donts.
Got my own head scratcher today working on a NEW Rolls Royce Ghost no pressure !!

It's mainly if you end up replacing the cable, I liken it to one of those vet programes on tv when the calf won't come out.
You have to get you arm right up the back of the seat because the cable can take 2 routes downwards
Both seem ok but when you refit the headrest the cable stops the headrest from locating
None of this is necessary when tracing a fault cable damage is likely around the hinge and under the seat as this is where the movement takes place.
If the screen flickers or shows any sign of life the cable would be my first bet
You could also try swapping the screen cables at the control unit to rule that out
Shame your not near me
