Preview to coming IIDTool update...

The top level menu items should be of interest to many Smile
Also of general interest is what the TPMS warning light does before and after 3:10.

It does much more than just read and clear faults. The 2010> is not yet available, but the functionality will be comparable to the 2009 (obviously only where similar features are offered). Go to http://gap-diagnostic.com/products/iidtool.html and punch in RRS and 2009 in the functionality list section. Be sure to click the arrows in the chart to expand the sub-sections.

Some quick infos for those interested in becoming beta testers (2010> RRS):
- you will receive a discount over the retail price
- you will have direct support/contact with our engineers
- there may be features in the IIDTool that do not function properly - you may need to update the firmware multiple times

We have quite a number of beta testers spread across the Land Rover /Range Rover models we cover. An ongoing discussion by many betas and some regular customers can be seen at http://www.fullfatrr.com/forum/topic12418.html

If you are interested in becoming a beta, please send us a mail to GAPTeam @ our website (in my sig, below). We will notify everyone who has mailed us as soon as the beta release becomes available.

Here a quick general explanation into diagnostic tools/systems and maybe as a guide on what to look for if you are thinking of buying:

There are 4 basic functions for a diagnostic system:
- Fault (DTC- diagnostic trouble code) reading and clearing
- Live Value display
- Editing the car's configuration files (CCF)
- Initializing, calibrating, or programing new components or executing service routines/manually actuating components (testing function)

2 other major factors to be considered are:
- vehicle or manufacturer specific application / generic application (£25 OBD scanner)
- one VIN / multiple VIN

Starting with the lowest priced units, even a £25 generic code reader will read and sometimes clear the codes on anything that is emissions related (engine+drive train). They will not work on any vehicle specific systems. LR vehicle specific diagnostic tools start with the BBS FCR and the Hawkeye and go through the IIDTool to the BBS MSV to Autologic to the main dealer T4/IDS. There are some others out there - there is a large US LR parts retailer who sells a very basic (LR specific) fault code reader for over $1000.

In a nutshell - that's it. IMO, there is one that stands out... :-p

United Kingdom 2006 Range Rover Sport Supercharged Java Black

myself and a few others beta tested the IIDTool for the older pre 2010 sports, its a great bit of kit, allows you to have a bit of a tinker, and learn a few bits in the process, if any one is considering, take the plunge, makes it easy to locate and clear false faults(not that a RRS would ever do that Rolling Eyes )

It would also be good if someone could post as to what it does or does not do when compaqired against the BBS unit.
Basically, what is the better buy In Spain - 2018 F Pace - Frightened away from the Sports due to crank failures
Gone - A couple of RRS, A couple of Disco's. However thinking of another Sport.
