How common are turbo problems on TDV8? 72k miles and both have gone filling the cats with oil. Faced with £9k dealer bill and pretty furious. I believe part numbers for turbos have changed 4 time since 07 so this must be a known issue. Local dealers say uncommon but have their own agenda.

It's not common for the turbos to fail completely, but is common for problems with electronic control units to fail which control the vari- vain adjustment. Mine has had both replaced at different times, both for electronic failure. The bill sounds high, the job involved removing the body to access turbos, that's 18 hours book time. If doing both then it's only another hour. The turbos are grand a bit so hard to see 9. 2x TDV6. SE and HSE. Both returned to sender with issues👀
TDV8 Sport HSE...... Gone. Loved it but it didn't love me!!
Now rolling in MY10 Fullfat TDV8 Vogue. Slammed it to go round corners🙈
