It's not in the current manual, as far as I know, but when the new rules were published, they stated only spark ignition engines need to have a cat fitted as part of a test. No mention of diesel engines at all

That said, our previous MOT station did fail a few (diesel) cars for not having a cat, until this fact was pointed out to them. Not had an issue since, even when moving to a different testing station Thumbs Up
