Coolant Low error...

Hi All,

I have been getting a 'Coolant Low' error in the dash, my local garage has confirmed that there IS coolant there. I then ordered a new coolant sensor from Dan (Duckworths), this has been replaced BUT the error has popped up again...

Any ideas? Anyone have the same issue?

Cheers Wink

Had the same on mine earlier this year , appears to be a common occurence on the RRS ,

Had the coolant bottle changed under warranty , no probs since.

This could be a common problem then. The same warning came up on my dash last week so I pulled over and checked. The bottle was full.

Next day I called the dealer who told me they would replace the entire bottle and sensor to fix the problem.
The warning has only come up twice and since the coolant temperature gauge is reading normal I've not taken the car in to get the bottle and sensor changed yet. Ra-Ro Sport Super Dooper Charged.

Hi Streaky,

My error is also intermittent, but still there after changing the sensor, looks like I also need to change the bottle

Common problem on early RRS and yes you need a new bottle. Surprised you were sold a sensor as this problem should have been known about by a parts dept. 2005 Zambezi TDV6 - Gone but not forgotten

Spoke to Dan and he advised that sometimes the replacement sensor sometimes fixes this fault. But I have ordered a bottle today from him.. Cheers

Yup, same error with me. New bottle sorted the problem. 2005 Range Rover Sport TDV6 HSE in Artic Frost. 20" 2010 HST Alloys, sidesteps, Hawke tips, plus minor bits and bobs along with a remap. Four spike spiders ready for the Alps again now tucked up in their garage boxes...

Check Bobby's postings for LTB00243NAS1 16th November 2009 - 'Check Coolant Level' Message Displayed:

CONDITION SUMMARY:
Situation: The 'Check Coolant Level' message may be displayed in the instrument cluster message center
despite there being no coolant leaks evident and the coolant level is at the correct level. This may be caused
by excessive vertical travel of the float inside the coolant expansion tank.
Action: In the event of a customer concern of the above, refer to the Repair Procedure outlined below to
install a new, updated coolant expansion tank.

I would have expected dealer to advise you of this rather than just sell you parts?

Hi olyb223,

Dan works for the site sponsor Duckworth Land Rover, I got the bottle for £26.50 delivered (to UK)
Not had it fitted yet, going in on Tuesday, so hopefully only a few days more of this error

Hi all,

I had the bottle and sensor replaced but still get this error 70% of the time... driving me nuts...
Coolant has also just been replaced by my local garage during a service.

Any one have any more ideas on how to resolve this.?

Cheers
