Last week I got the dreaded warning lights flashing on the dash and transmission error message and locking in park. Intermittent battery warning light and the it wouldn't start after a stop. Had to wait two and a half hours fro breakdown to come out and then all he did was jump the car and wouldn't take us to our preferred garage 25 mins away. The warning lights cam on again after a couple of kms, managed to get to the garage that has been working on the car and luckily they had my Volvo there that we were trying to sell.
This week they have established that the battery was past it's best and ordered a new uprated one. They also checked the alternator and found that it was not charging the battery. This was a shock as it was replaced 7 weeks ago, they dealt with the supplier and got an uprated one under warranty. Both have been fitted and there are currently no issues, even the problem I had with the sat nav has gone. On Monday they are taking it to a Land Rover dealer to have all the necessary updates done, they have negotiated a very good hourly rate.
