Dog smell !

Hi guys,

The previous owner of my car obviously had dog/dogs in the boot with no covers or liner.

Subsequently the whole car stinks of dogs.

I never noticed it when I bought the car as the dealer put a plastic liner in and when the liner is in the boot it does not smell.

I had it in the local hand wash yesterday for a boot carpet shampoo and it smelled good yesterday but today the smell is back.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I have a dog and never have it in the car without being in a dog bag - I know how bad it can be from buying previous cars with your problem Evil or Very Mad

You might try sponging the carpet with a 10pc bleach and hottish water, If it brings up the muck, it's working! I have had 2 usually mucky springers in many vehicles and it certainly helps. But the odour bomb looks interesting!

Try an Autosmart product called "Bio Brisk" Used in conjunction with a deep cleaner (I have a Karcher Puzi 100) this wiil do the job as well as its going to get !
Bio Brisk is designed to remove animal smells and smells of stuff like spilt milk and Errrrrr Sick....

I would clean twice and do the job slowly making sure its done very well. HTH

Charlie.

The problem with these odour bomb type products is that they mask over and not remove the smell or the element that is causing the smell... Result is product dispels and the smell returns... Shocked

sprinkle baking soda all over the carpets pat in and leave over night , also spread some on a baking tray or newspaper and leave that in over night then hoover out in the morn may need to do this for a week but it actually asorbs odor and nutrailises it
this can take out a lot of smells and is also cheap to boot
also try nutradol airfresheners there very strong but also kill off a lot of odour and after a fw of these can go back to what ever only the dead truely know peace,
Bootneck its not a job its a way of life!
