........Overall I am very because I manage to think that I should be proud and happy when I have a problem with the RRS. RRS's are built on purpose to have some faults so you have a reason to pop in to see your dealer and to say HELLO.  !!! RRS TDV8 !!!

MW - funny that you thought that. I always have a mental picture of a couple in their 60's with an old Black Lab in the boot whenever I look at a FFRR.

I am telling you the truth:

1. I bought this car because I like how it looks. I know they have (expensive) issues but who cares?!

2. We (me, wife, kid + 5 godsans) like to go out whenever we afford (time and ££) on holidays in EU or short trips in UK and is much easier with a bigger car. The kids are very excited when we drive on the countryside roads and a little bit of off road. (my wife is sponsoring the costs on all the trips, I have the car, " Thank you my love" ), so very easy for a familly having this car.


 !!! RRS TDV8 !!!

Off road and bad weather performance even on road tyres - exceptional - Actually better than my Defender V8 Anniversary on AT's in snow / ice / mud. A little boring off road though as it drives itself.

Motorways - exceptional - quiet, comfortable, fast, safe, 40mpg possible with 5 and luggage.

Twisty B roads - exceptional - 2.5 tonnes shouldn't go round corners this quick.

Commuting which includes about a mile off road - exceptional - It gets me there and back in a very relaxing way.

Looks - After 3 years it's still a good looking vehicle. I appreciate i'm in a huge minority here as I don't like smoked glass, side steps, big wheels, chrome, spot lights, et al. At the time I didn't realise it but I bought a "lowly" XS spec as I don't like the look of the HSE's. And don't get me started on the MY2010 with the fairy lights on the front.

My local dealer's service department is first rate. Copley Land Rover, Halifax.

It fulfils everything from off road through to big GT with aplomb. Allan

My two Goldie retrievers prefer a range rover. It has a lower boot easier to get the beasts in the car lol. My 2012 RR SPORT in white

Because I couldnt afford a Skoda

We have a Skoda. An Octaiva Estate 1.9TDi.

An excellent car - loads of space with the rear seats up or down, carries 4 in decent comfort (third rear passenger isn't that comfy), gives good mileage (50mpg+ possible on a run if gentle), has decent kit levels. In many ways it's like the RRS except for the 4x4 bit and the high driving position. It's more reliable than the RRS too, judging by the issues raised hereabouts!!

I considered getting an Octavia Scout (4wd Octavia) but they hold their money well - indeed, all of the Octavias hold their money well these days as people have realised that, jokes aside, they're excellent value for money cars.

It's basically an Audi for half the price - which I find most amusing!  2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed
