Just got home from a run out only to hear a massive hissing coming from the rear near side tyre.
Anyway, phoned LRA and someone was round within 15mins
Once the tyre was off, job in itself, it became apparent that a seven inch section of tread had come away from the tyre wall, not amused!
Anyone had this or heard of it happening before?
Pirelli tyres by the way....

How old are the tyres - sounds like a defect and should be covered

Tyre is stamped 2008 so must be original tyres as the car is a 58.

We were quite lucky really as we'd just been doing 70mph on a dual carriageway, could have been interesting
