I fitted the Bosch aero type last week and it was a struggle...

Mine would only lift up about 4" I found i had to bend the blades to get them to flip over... Didnt do them any harm.

I also used an old tool box to stand on

You have probably worked this bit out , but have you opened the plastic cover cap Ok??
