Drive line "clunk"

Just noticed a little “clunk” in the drive train when speed drops to virtually zero and you gently accelerate away, normally worse when turning into a left hand corner.
Your input / thoughts would be welcome. In Spain - 2018 F Pace - Frightened away from the Sports due to crank failures
Gone - A couple of RRS, A couple of Disco's. However thinking of another Sport.

United Kingdom 2007 Range Rover Sport TDV6 HSE Java Black

Wondering if any one could help please!!!

I own a 2007 rrs hse, a couple of days ago whilst driving back to the UK through Spain noticed a rasping type sound
from underneath the car, pulled over and noticed oil all underneath the car, drove to the nearest garage and was told the oil was transmission fluid a seal seems to have broken and no transmission oil left as run dry and caused damage to the transmission with a repair bill of 3 to 4K

My question is should the engine management system have warned me of the lack of oil to the transmission before the damage occured??

is this a warranty job? is there any path i could go down with Land Rover or does any member know of anyone experiencing
the same fault or damage

Any suggestions or help would be very appreciated

Have owned the car from new and this is the first problem i,ve had

Thanks very much for reading
