Put car in garage for the first time last night. I'm back on the cycle now and have been using the car more than expected but anyway... Decided to reverse in after first lowering it and checking for height, which was fine. Retracted the mirrors to get them past the gap and in she goes, smooth as you like. Problem came when I tried to open the door and I found that the handle added extra width and combined with the buttress in the middle of the garage, meant it was more than a tight squeeze to get out! I reversed some more and managed to climb out but not without some contortioning

Haha! Indeed - can you remember the garage project over on SN? The one I used to own in Suffolk? That would be nice but seeing as this is London, something that size would be converted into a 3 bed house and sold for loadsamoney. I'll have to make do with the garage that came with my flat, that was built around the time the A40 was still prevalent and the original Mini had just come out... Ireland on the other hand is not a problem, a very large garage/workshop/boathouse and another garage but then crime isn't an issue either. |
