Just had both my front discs replaced (along with a dodgy tyre) on my 12 month old and it cured my problem. MY2011 HSE Santorini/Ivory/Piano Black/Privacy Glass/TV .Sadly gone.

I have noticed a steering shake when braking at speed on mine too but I have not had a chance to take it back yet, it sounds like this could be a common problem. 12MY RRS Orkney Grey HSE Lux

Thanks Jon thats exactly the same. I cant believe that the disc are a problem so soon, plus i have never braked hard or driven the car hard, are they a faulty disc from new ? SVR 2018 in Santorini Black. |

They were the exact questions i asked the dealer as i also did not think i had abused the car. The response was fairly expected which was " don't know - perhaps they were just faulty"

This is another example of land rover cutting costs, in 2011 they changed to their own brand of brakes, before that they used a company who knew what they were doing when it came to brakes. Brembo. Land rover, this may well be a very expensive lesson for you. Just i minute...... who is it that owns land rover these days Say no more |

I will defend Tata, which incidentally between Tata Steel and Tata Motors (JLR) is the largest industrial investor in the UK at the moment. Without Tata Corus and JLR would of had a very different future. I have not got the figures to hand but due to their size in the UK now they contribute approx 2% of the exchequers coffers. Unlike some other lager mobile and internet companies who actively avoid paying their dues to the UK.....

That may well be the case but as a result of their cost cutting I have been without my car and incurred expenses on several seperate occassions now due to poor quality components such as orange peel/poorly applied and contaminated 2nd coat paintwork, ill fitting window seals, radio control switch panel and now both front discs which took 3 days.

Fair points Chris, although the cars we drive are as a result of the BMW investment (biggest sheet press in Europe) and Ford (they built the paint line).

I'll try and find the link later but i believe that LR's "own" brand were actually made by a highly reputable third party brake company. |

May be the case but judging by the problems of warping so early probably made down to a price? MY2011 HSE Santorini/Ivory/Piano Black/Privacy Glass/TV .Sadly gone.
