Just started to notice that when braking from higher speeds iam getting a little shaking through the steering. Car only has just over 4k miles on it, cant be warpped discs surely. Have read the same here with others but i can not find it in the search. SVR 2018 in Santorini Black.

Just had both my front discs replaced (along with a dodgy tyre) on my 12 month old and it cured my problem. MY2011 HSE Santorini/Ivory/Piano Black/Privacy Glass/TV .Sadly gone.

Just had mine done on my 2012 RRS

Bad vibration through steering wheel when 60mph + and light braking.

Like your car only done approx 5000 miles.

Discs and pads changed under warranty and now all sorted Smile

I have noticed a steering shake when braking at speed on mine too but I have not had a chance to take it back yet, it sounds like this could be a common problem. 12MY RRS Orkney Grey HSE Lux

Thanks Jon thats exactly the same. I cant believe that the disc are a problem so soon, plus i have never braked hard or driven the car hard, are they a faulty disc from new ? SVR 2018 in Santorini Black.

They were the exact questions i asked the dealer as i also did not think i had abused the car. The response was fairly expected which was " don't know - perhaps they were just faulty"

It did take them two days as they had to get ok from LR. I guess there has been a batch of dodgy disks. Interested to see what you get told when you get them sorted.

Let me know

This is another example of land rover cutting costs, in 2011 they changed to their own brand of brakes, before that they used a company who knew what they were doing when it came to brakes. Brembo. Land rover, this may well be a very expensive lesson for you. Whistle Just i minute...... who is it that owns land rover these days Question Question Question Question Say no more Mad

I will defend Tata, which incidentally between Tata Steel and Tata Motors (JLR) is the largest industrial investor in the UK at the moment. Without Tata Corus and JLR would of had a very different future. I have not got the figures to hand but due to their size in the UK now they contribute approx 2% of the exchequers coffers. Unlike some other lager mobile and internet companies who actively avoid paying their dues to the UK.....

Oh and they are a great place to work Smile

That may well be the case but as a result of their cost cutting I have been without my car and incurred expenses on several seperate occassions now due to poor quality components such as orange peel/poorly applied and contaminated 2nd coat paintwork, ill fitting window seals, radio control switch panel and now both front discs which took 3 days.
Clearly they seem to be happy with their cost of quality i.e. the repair costs are probably lower than their expenses saved but how many more unhappy customers are there out there who have had to put up with their own costs and inconvenience which the bean counters at TATA aren't factoring in? MY2011 HSE Santorini/Ivory/Piano Black/Privacy Glass/TV .Sadly gone.

Fair points Chris, although the cars we drive are as a result of the BMW investment (biggest sheet press in Europe) and Ford (they built the paint line).

The Tata investments will only be really felt by the consumers when the new products are coming through ie Evoque or the new RR. Some of the investment will not be really available for a couple of years ie new engine factory.

I'll try and find the link later but i believe that LR's "own" brand were actually made by a highly reputable third party brake company.

May be the case but judging by the problems of warping so early probably made down to a price? MY2011 HSE Santorini/Ivory/Piano Black/Privacy Glass/TV .Sadly gone.
