Removing incorrect badge advice

Hi guys

I'm picking up a TDV6 MY2007 on Wednesday (pics to follow) and the previous owner has out an Autobiography badge on and removed the HSE badge....

I intend to remove the Autobiography badge but worried about it pulling the paint off etc.

Any advice, do's or dont's? Would it be a good idea to get a hair dryer on it and then scrape off with some kind of plastic wedge??

Thanks in advance.

THe previous owner of mine had done much the same.

Pick a warm day, use a hairdryer. The badges came of mine easilly. If you need it a plastic scraper will work - I only needed it just to get the edge up. After that just peeled back with my finger. 2007 TDV8 HSE, Stornoway, 20" HST alloys + GG ATs, HST body kit and Remap (+45 BHP + 100 Nm)

Thanks, did you bother putting another one back on? I was debating putting black badge all round like these http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Chrome-SPORT-HSE...004wt_1199

It's Stornaway grey so not sure if it will look good?

Yup, dental floss or fine fishing line will sort it out.
Then you'll Thumbs Up need a sticky remover, something like AutoGlym Tar remover, or, as it's such a small area, petrol will be just as good Thumbs Up ON THE WAY: BMW F21 M140i

Tar remover will probably be cheaper than petrol!

Pouring hot water from the kettle also works well to soften the glue behind the badges, incase like me you don't have a hair dryer (or hair Sad ) Current: 06 RR Sport HSE TDV6, Bonatti grey, black leather. Defender 90 pick up. Vito 110cdi

Start to soften the adhesive with a hair drier...then spray WD40 or white spirit onto the edges around the outside of the badge.

WD40 will soften most adhesives or even white spirit left to soak with an impregnated rag.

Do not use any solvents that might harm the lacquer. Ra-Ro Sport Super Dooper Charged.
