Any suggestions

driving along the motorway today and started to get smoke coming out of the centre airvents along with an acrid burning smell. No warning signs and the car kept going, smoke stopped and we continued our journey. The heating ventilation system is not working but the lights on the centre console are still on. Any ideas and does anyone know what fuses may be involved? Silver 2006 2.7 tdv6

Can't offer any 'technical' help, but you've not got a plastic carrier bag stuck under the car have you, had a very similar experiece a few years ago, turned out to be a plastic bag caught on the exhaust manifold, resulting in a terrible smell and smoke Idea ON THE WAY: BMW F21 M140i

No expert, but if the fans not working I would suspect its burnt out. If you took some fog and put it in a jar, would it be missed.
