Help with rrs choice.

Hi all,

I'm new here just wanting some advice the time has come for me to buy a comfy cruiser, now Im wanting the 4.2 sc sport as I'm a v8 addict.
I've had a few powerful v8's including mustang v8's which was not to good on fuel as you can imagine.
I currently drive a focus St and I do about 60 miles a week mostly motorway just wondering what I can expect to pay in fuel, my current St does about 25mpg so about £25, i suppose I'm asking is it worth me getting the TDV6 instead and have it remapped I just don't no if it will be frustrating if it will be too under powered. I'd love the SC version but with petrol being cheaper and my low mileage will it be worth me getting a oil burner. What would you guys recommend With my mileage.
Sorry for waffling just trying to justify the v8.
Oh I get about 250-300 miles to a full tank with it being 55L.
Stu

Wales 2005 Range Rover Sport Supercharged Vesuvius Orange

my RRS S/C averages about 11 MPG, so double your present fuels costs !  RR Sport Supercharged Vesuvius Orange 4.2 V8 First edition

Prefer RR Vouge S/C but they don't do Orange !

United Kingdom 2012 Range Rover Sport SDV6 HSE Orkney Grey

The 4.2 will give you mid-teens mpg

The 3.6TDV8 will give you 20-25mpg

The 2.7TDV6 and 3.0TDV6 will give 25-30mpg

All rough figures, obviously. Some people will no doubt say they get more but if you drive it enthusiastically then you'll be lucky to see more than these figures.

For 60 miles a week on motorways I'd be tempted to go for the 4.2 and just put up with never seeing more than 20mpg Thumbs Up Rolling with laughter 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

Thanks for input so I'm looking at about £40 for 60 miles, bit worse than my mustang then. I may just go with the 4.2sc as i do very little mileage. How does a remapped TDV6 compare to a standard TDV8.
