Ignition live feed.

Can anyone identify a "ignition only live feed" in or near the engine. I'm fitting DRL's through an auto switch and I can't find a feed.

The spare fues slots have a constant feed as do most of the other terminals i'v tried. I don't want to pay an auto electrician, as this is such a basic task. But I don't want to start splicing wires in the loom for trial and error purpos.

If anyone who has DRL's could trace the ignition feed that would be cracking.

It a 08MY TDV8 HSE if that makes a difference.

Thanks 08MY HSE 3.6 TDV8 Stornoway Grey, Twisted performance cat back... and shed loads of extras!!!

Ah ok.

So did you just take a feed off that fuse?

Is it recommended to increase the fuse slightly to take into account the DRL's?

I'm running 4 x SMD halo. 32smd per ring. 08MY HSE 3.6 TDV8 Stornoway Grey, Twisted performance cat back... and shed loads of extras!!!

I just took the feed directly of the fuse mate, didnt fancy increasing the fuse size in case of damage to the seats.Worse case scenario was the fuse blew, however I have been running my drl's for over 12 months with no issues. Thumbs Up

Just tested the same fuse for mine. Seems to be ok.

When the ignition is turned off the fuse still keeps power for a couple of mins. So do your DRL's stay lit or 2 minutes after also?

Shouldn't be a problem that as it would be like "follow me home lights" but beter to be safe than sorry.

Cheers for info 08MY HSE 3.6 TDV8 Stornoway Grey, Twisted performance cat back... and shed loads of extras!!!

Cheers for advice.

I used a piggy back of the 10amp fuse next to the heated seat 25a . So everything is running separate and my DRL's are separate on a 5amp

All working fine, and dim lovely when the side/headlights go on. These day running lights stay on for 60 seconds after ignition turn off, so adds a premium feel to a nice modification.

Homemade SMD led rings.

Are those fog/driving lights in the bumper? How good are the driving lights? I quite fancy those myself having seen them online but never found anyone who has them fitted to ask about them. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

They are OEM driving lights.

Lovely to have and the car a little less like everyone else's. When driving with full beam on the difference is night and day. 08MY HSE 3.6 TDV8 Stornoway Grey, Twisted performance cat back... and shed loads of extras!!!
