2006 Range Rover Sport Supercharged HSE Java Black

Audible bong on start up ?

Hi has anybody come across the following on a range rover sport 2006,on initial start up an audible bong is heard as airbag lights go out.There is no fault messages and no codes in ecu when code read.I dont think its always done this. any ideas?

My car does it - is part of the test process of light bulbs and gong on start.

This has nothing to do with any bag.
Its part of the system and no amount of "latest software" can delete it.

Why are you upset with it? The bong just tells you that all systems have been checked its all OK. Malaysia Boleh!

mmmm got me thinking now,i have noticed this but thought it was when i had gone to start the car with the door still open.? the bong was to say door open...???

No, if the key is left in the starter switch while the driver's door is open, you will hear a continuous chime. Either shut the door or remove the key.

Mine doesn't make this bong noise when starting... 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed
