Spare wheel winch/cable..Help

Received my RLD wheel protector and decided to go fit it, i opened the access hatch and began winding anti -clockwise as advised in the manual and nothing happened the cable doesnt seem to be releasing anything...does this take a long time before you will start to notice spare cable? Any ideas...could the winch be broken? Thanks

Oh an by the way i did search , but the previous post about a winhc seemed to be caused by not having a weight (wheel) attached to it........would this be the same despite having the wheel attached...? If it doesnt scare you it isnt heavy enough

it does take a bit of time, the wheel will slowly but surely be lowered to the ground

Give the spare a kick or a pull to make sure it isn't wedged or 'stuck' up - to make sure load is on the winch otherwise you could have a problem with the cable tangling...

Took it to the dealer and they said the winch was Censored and will fit a new one next week, along with the petrol cap catch.....once the wheel protector on i'll be a happy bunny. If it doesnt scare you it isnt heavy enough
