Don't do it mate. There is loads on here about it. Do a search and it's a compleat nightmare when people have converted there sports. Sounds like a good idea but it's not. Welcome too the site anyway and sorry for bad news. MY11 Autobiography supercharged. Santorini Black. Monaco interior. Rear screens. Privacy.

There are a whole heap of potential horror stories associated with LPG converting the RRS petrol engine - something to do with a lack of lubrication from LPG causing the valve seats to deteriorate. It can be done but to do it properly appears to be very expensive as upgraded heads are required.

Research the higher temperature burn of LPG compared to petrol and the damage that does to engine linings. If that doesn't put you off then nothing will.

Does this apply to both the 4.2 S/C and 4.4 N/A engines? People have been converting V8's for years - RR Classic, for instance. I have one currently, 135k on the clock, no problems - just as long as you run it on petrol now and then to keep the top end lubricated there should be no problems. So what are the problems associated with the V8's in RR Sports, and do they apply to both the 4.2 and 4.4 V8 engines? wont the government control on LPG be running out soon anyway at which point prices could quite easily soar....the price of lpg has increased a fair whack anyway from what i've seen.... If it doesnt scare you it isnt heavy enough |
