Reoccurring Suspension/Steering premature wear problems | |
Reoccurring Suspension/Steering premature wear problems from brand new
I have experienced on-going reoccurring suspension/steering premature wear problems from brand new on my Range Rover Sport TDV8 HSE (Purchased August 2007). Are these reoccurring suspension/steering premature wear problems unique to my vehicle?
The Range Rover Maintenance Check Sheet items 35, 36 & 44 are not required to be CHECKED until a B service is due at 30,000 miles / 24 months, as follows:
Item 35. Check for free play in all suspension & body mounting rubbers
Item 36. Check condition of all suspension, driveshafts & steering boots & gaiters
Item 44. Check steering rod ball joint fixings and condition of the ball joints and dust covers
My vehicle needs suspension/steering items to be REPLACED at an average of currently around every 12,000 miles or so.
The vehicle has been serviced exclusively by Land Rover dealers. I enclose details of the suspension/steering premature wear problems that I have been experiencing from new, as follows:
2011
Both inner track rod ball joints
Rear suspension arc unit
Front arc unit bushes and clamps
4 wheel alignment
2010
Front anti roll bushes
Rear anti roll bushes
Nearside front & offside front control arms
4 wheel alignment
2009
Roll bar actuator
Lower ball joints
Rear anti roll bushes, clamps
4 wheel alignment
2008
New anti roll bar bushes.
2007
Steering Lower shaft (due to excess play).
The Sale of Goods Act 1979 (as amended) states that a car must be of satisfactory quality. Satisfactory quality is defined as what a reasonable person would regard as acceptable, taking into account factors such as price paid, fitness for purpose specified, appearance and finish, safety and durability.
