I have the detachable tow bar kit complete with electrics on my RRS MY11, I havent used it yet but have taken it out to test it and make sure it all works so I can attache a tow ball bike carrier, only to find that it requires a key to lock it in place, I cant find the key anywhere in the car or under the boot cover where the tow ball was expecting it to be there.
Do you know if I can order a replacement key from landrover, and has anyone esle had to do this.

You can purchase a replacement lock and key set from LR, very easy to change the lock and you get two keys, I purchased mine about 18 months ago and cost about £12.

Hi

The lock assembly is very easy to change, you simply need to tap out the roll pin (I think you need a 3mm punch) put on the new part and tap in the roll pin. It really is that simple.

I changed mine because I only had one key, strangely enough the new part had exactly the same key number as the one I replaced.

I have the one I removed with one key which is in perfect condition, you are welcome to have it for the cost of postage if its any help to you. Who knows you may find the spare key I have fits your lock. If you want me to send it to you just PM with your address, also let me have the key number (you will find this on the lock barrel) its just possible its the same as I have in which case I will just send you the key.

Thanks for the offer of your old lock but I have already ordered the new keys, just didnt want to pay the £50 to replace the lock.
