amber engine warning light on. 2006 hse 4.4 v8

The Censored engine light has came on continually.

I have read some posts about this fault on other posts but these were for TDs.

Does anyone have any ideas on what it is and what i need to do?

No loss in power and no messages.

Don't have a petrol but a previous TDV8 had the amber light come on on several occasions. First time it did I rang LR assistance and an engineer on the phone said not to worry but just see if it stayed on and if it did, take it to a dealer to see what fault codes had been registered.

I was in the north west of scotland at the time and thought that some poor fuel could have been the cause. Two days ;ater the light went off on it's own.

The "reduced power" message appeared yesterday and the engine cut out (in a car park luckily), however after restarting both the message and light disappeared and its been fine today?!!

I put it in to LR to be on the safe side
