Detailing underway

I had intended handing the RRS over to a detailer (sorry Spearsy!) but my neighbour has convinced me the two of us should to detail both our cars.

Made a start today on mine and after a couple of snow foams I clayed the whole car.

I thought it looked clean after the washes, but was amazed at the amount of crap this lifted off;

Im assuming the clay bar lifted all the fillers out of the scratches as the bodywork looked like this after another wash. What a mess;

Going to start with the DA tonight so will post more piccies tomorrow. FF 4.4 V8 Soooo looking forward to this bad boy

Shocked at that clay.
FWIW, I'd be folding that in on itself a little more regularly, as I think that you will have inflicted some marring from that, not that it matters as you are going to DA though Smile

sherlock - as I said in my post, just make sure you fold the clay in on itself frequently and you should be able to avoid any major marring. Thumbs Up
Also, make sure you use plenty of water/lube to avoid the clay dragging Wink ON THE WAY: BMW F21 M140i

You do know how to use the DA, as your claying is a bit off Whistle

I fold mine as soon as it appears a slightest bit dirty or thereabouts, to fold it it takes away what it's removed from the paint work,

Edit: obviously not, you've polish your head off Laughing

Looks a nice clean and clear finish

The Meguiers DA microfiber polishing system is supposed to make work easier with a DA

I bought the kit nd will let you know how I get on if I get round to using it Thumbs Up
