do you know which type of supercharged is under your RRS hood
it's Eaton Roots type Supercharger

I was just wondering why LR selected practically this type any clue or technical reason ?
In the below links there are saying it is the oldest type of supercharger and dates back to the early 1900's also says that Most major manufacturers have steered away from roots type superchargers likely because they create so much heat

Yes it is the Eaton Roots type.

The Eaton supercharger is positioned on top of the engine with twin intercoolers and bespoke cooling radiators. There is also an additional air oil-cooler.

Roots blowers are simple and reliable, that's why

They're used on the MINI Cooper S, supercharged Mercedes, RRS, Jaguar XKR, etc etc.

Modern Roots superchargers are much more efficient than 'traditional' Roots superchargers of 30+ years ago, and over 300,000 vehicles are year are built fitted with them from the factory

No manufacturer has built a car with a centrifugal-type supercharger since 1964  Like this site? Buy some RRSPORT goodies to show your support!

The actual supercharger is an Eaton M112

I presume the air-oil cooler is standard

Simple and Reliable I never hear from u guys that someone has problem with his supercharges that it the best prove...but for long run any clue if it will be also reliable I became to know that supercharges effect the engine life and required more maintenace it it true
I'm having Turbo Evo 8 and it really needs more care that non turbo engine and never had supercharged engine any supercharged owners can comment on this issue

Superchargers do put a bit more stress on the engine but assuming it's maintained properly there's no reason it'll shorten the life. LR sleeved the cylinders (hence the drop from 4.4 to 4.2) to toughen things up a bit

ok is the superchrged engine pratical enough for daily using..long distance, city use and offroad..

Didn't Jaguar develop the Supercharged 4.2
