Removing rear LR badge

I could do a search but I'm too lazy!

What is the best way of removing the rear LR badge. I seem to remember that heating it works and also the use of dental floss! Advice please. 2005 Zambezi TDV6 - Gone but not forgotten
2009 Alaska TDV8 - Gone and much missed.

VA dental floss is two weak you need to use fishing line or that type of thing. I've used a hair dryer before.

A hair dryer is the best...just heat up the badge and surrounding area and the glue that holds the badge will start to melt or the paintwork depending on the quality of the paintshop at LR Wink Chips with everything

Serious question....How hot does a hair dryer get the badge?

Is it the same heat as ...say the car was left in 120 degree heat, direct sunlight on a Java car?

Will I return to my car one day in the summer and find the badge has relocated to the bumper?... Shocked Runner up - 2009 Best Avatar Award Sad

I don't see many horror stories of badges falling off in the heat from the USA contingent, and they would be the first to complain! I think your bigger problem will be the paint fading coz it's black and that always happens in very sunny countried with black cars............................

at least that is what you can tell Mrs SuperT to allow you to buy a White RRS with Dynamic Pack....................... 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Should just get hot to the touch....but please dont get out your 'black and decker' heat guns!!!!

Even when hot the badge remains sticky...so watch out for bored schoolboys stealing LR badges during the summer....we could start a craze!!

Seriously, a friend of mine is a signwriter and he uses the 'hairdryer method' all the time to remove stickers, trim and badges from vehicles. Chips with everything

Super, my name is on the list but spec and colour undecided. Have heard that there may be some new colours for 2007 so will see what's being offered, although white is the favourite, but if there is a Tangier Orange coming out then that is pretty high up the desirable colours list too.
Here's what I want:
HSE
White with ebony leather, Tangiers with ebony leather or the same combo as I have now.
Dynamic Pack
Sunroof
Tow Pack

The local dealer hasn't any idea of the final specs / colours yet so will hang fire. They know what I'm interested in so if the car is launched before I get home in October they may order one in as a showroom car in the the spec I want so I can see it befor committing myself. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it
