Oh dear, I've not read the article, but I can guess from chesterfields comments the drift of it Rolling Eyes Laughing

Edit: just read the article in the paper on the way home. I struggle to see why people would buy based on some morons from a :cénsored: tv series. Is it not dealers instigating this? I was offered 3 x white MY12 RRS's by dealers when looking for mine.....and no not all the dealers were in Essex Laughing ON THE WAY: BMW F21 M140i

I believe from some dealers (non RR/LR) one reason for white is that you don't pay extrea for white in comparison to metallic on BMW/Audi hence the uptake for this fashion.

My neighbour has a q7 in white and to be honest it looks pretty smart in this colour.

As an aside noticed that for MY12 Metallic is now an extra where if i remember right it used to be a no cost extra on LR products at HSE spec ? 2011 MY- RRS HSE - Zermatt -Ebony-Piano .... its a monochrome world

2006- BMW Z4M Roadster -Titanium Silver

Having had a bodyshop take seven weeks to match the pearlescent yellow on the Datsun of mine, I went for white on the RRS as its flat, and should it get scuffed when I eventually take it off road, my theory is it will be cheaper and easier to match Smile

Thats the theory anyway Laughing RRS 3.0D HSE 11MY - Fuji White, a few extras.

Seen a 2010 RRS in Fuji and it looked wrong IMHO, seen a Q5 in White and it looked good, i have a relative with a S5 in white it looks great, my M3 is white looks great

Some cars suit it, some don't and i personally think the RRS is the latter, the Evoque looks amazing in white and that is what we are about to order.

Sorry Chesterfield!

Having also an white car which got is scratched, i was looking for a good paint job.
But having talked to several paint shops, they all agreed that when repainting,
the White colour is the more difficult olour to match...

The wifes is also a 120d auto which now comes with a flappy paddle box....I actually prefer it to the Disco if I ever get to grab the keys, it's making me wonder if I still need a 4x4 Shocked
I might even take an XF for a test run soon to see if I can live with a normal car!

My brother and I had two XF-S, both were lemons. Mine ended up in solicitors letters due to it never being painted correctly - JLR washed their hands of it, and the dealer had three goes at repairing it and couldnt. Brothers popped off fuel hoses within 24 hours of owning it, then two weeks later filled with smoke. Mine also saw turbo faults and electrical faults.

Worst ownership experience of any car , ever. And that includes a £300 tin box from the motor auctions a few years ago.

Althugh made by JLR, the RRS seems a lot better from the off, and my experience from the dealers is top too. I will however never buy a jaguar again.

The day we went to see them being built in the factory they told us there was one robot on the whole assembly line - the one which puts the sealant round the windscreen before it is fitted. During our tour, that single robot was broken down. Should have been a sign in hindsight. They were also on 4 day weeks when we visited, and it was Thursday afternoon - meaning we technically had Friday afternoon specials Laughing

I love my RRS in white, I think the black and white look goes quite well on the RRS imho. I wasnt set on any colur in particular. A deal came up on this one, it happened to be white and I wasnt put off by it, so thats what we got. Ive had bodyshops say that white is easier, but thats when I was having a different colour sprayed at the time.

I guess body shops will always tell you your colour is garder to match than another. Its the painters equivalent of the mechanics teeth sucking Laughing RRS 3.0D HSE 11MY - Fuji White, a few extras.
