You should try selectively playing with the exposure in photoshop and pulling down the area just around the rear lights, not too much, but just enough to reduce some of the bleed and add a little definition to the LED's

The original wasn't that good to be honest: 1/40s exposure with ISO800 - just trying to show the lights without the need of the flash.
Then applied a new effect I found in the new version of Picasa - called 'Lomo-ish' RRS HSE TDV6 Autobiography

Managing low light is a pain in the ass. Camera is just not able to manage the dynamic range.

I took this one a couple of weeks ago - 5 second exposure. Hardest part was waiting for a car to come down the road and then get its headlights travelling through the frame during the exposure.

I have shot some others (not very successfully) using multiple exposures but need to get some HDR software as blending the different exposures in Photoshop can be quite challenging.

that was the 'before' shot, didn't take an 'after' shot with the new 'white' LED lights because I found out the passenger side sidelight doesnt want to work for some reason Banging Head
