CD Eject button broken

Hi, just found my cd button on my RRS to be broken (no resistance behind it), and won't eject the cd's. I have no clue how it got broken, perhaps at the carwash.

Has anyone managed to get this successfully repaired? Range Rover Sport SVR - Santorini Black

No chance of repair, its a complete unit swap unfortunately. The resistance behind the buttons is merely a little piece of plastic which become brittle and snap.

You absolutely must ensure that the unit you are replacing with is exactly the same year/make as the one coming out or they will not work.
I was lucky enough to find a member on this forum who had one for sale for £100 which was infinately better than the £700+ that LR wanted.

Taking the unit out is also tricky, look on Youtube for instructional videos on how to remove all the trim without causing any damage, absolutely invaluable.

Best of luck!!!

Hi Jetbags,

I got my cd eject button fixed under warranty (Land Rover) a few months ago and I watched the guy fix it ... took him five minutes!?

You were very very lucky, The problem i had with mine was wholly unrepairable, the only option being to replace the entire unit.
The micrswitches behind the buttons are so fragile it is quite a bad design flaw. I have never seen anything so tacky in my life and on a car this expensive you would expect something far better quality.

Glad you managed to get yours fixed, I will certainly argue a bit harder with the main dealer next time it happens(and it will)!
