According to the build sheet, tomorrow will be my cars birthday!
Whilst waiting for its March arrival I was just tidying up my music collection across the various and random devices I have.
I am using "MediaMonkey" to sort out duplicates, track titles, album covers etc.
I used to use MP3 CDs in my 07 RRS but this would show nothing more useful that "Track No." and "Folder no."
Does anyone know what elements the MY12 RRS system supports?
ie.
Does it show track name, album name, album art?
Does it need a specific folder structure?
Does it support "Playlists" and if so - what format? (M3U??)
I might as well get Mediamonkey set up for the RRS now whilst I am having a sort out.2016 RRS 4.4 TDV8 Autobiography Dynamic in Montalcino Red and Stealth Kit

To be honest, I've only played music from my IPhone and Blackberry (via B/T). I assume the BB is in MP3 format?
Certainly via the iPhone folders, playlists, track info etc are all visible.
I'll try with some music on a USB stick and see Whatit shows ON THE WAY: BMW F21 M140i

On my 2010, the USB must be set up with folders as:
ARTIST > ALBUM > SONGS
with no other folders lying around (eg a .trash folder etc). You then get the full details of the song playing - useful if you're in random mode! As a tip, I always rename my mp3's with a number first (01_, 02_, ... etc) so that they're played in the same order as they were on the original CD when required.
1. Cable connected IPhone: Tracks and Titles appear and Playlists work, steering controls navigate tracks
2. USB Stick: Tracks and Titles appear, you can browse around folder structure but M3U playlists do not work, steering controls navigate tracks
3. USB connected - non Apple smartphone: Tracks and Titles appear, you can browse around folder structure but M3U playlists do not work, steering controls navigate tracks
4. Bluetooth connected, non Apple smartphone: no tracks or titles appear, steering controls navigate tracks
I will attempt to clone Apple format playlists from the IPhone to the USB stick and see if it reads these at some point.2016 RRS 4.4 TDV8 Autobiography Dynamic in Montalcino Red and Stealth Kit
