2006 Range Rover Sport Supercharged Bonatti Grey

I'll give them a bell this afternoon to "confirm the price" after seeing lower prices at other dealerships.

Its worth a try Thumbs Up . In the current economic climate, I've found a lot more places willing to deal on the price. Mrs Bean goes mad when she thinks I'm going into haggle mode and walks away Laughing but at the end of the day, I'd rather have money in my account than theirs.

Providing you are reasonable and not requesting something outrageous then there's no harm done as far as I'm concerned.
I even tried to gently haggle in a well known jewlellers recently in Bond St London. Did I get any money off - No. But, I did I get a bottle of champagne and a free 1st service of the watch I purchased.... Thumbs Up ON THE WAY: BMW F21 M140i

2006 Range Rover Sport Supercharged Bonatti Grey

Have had quite a few phone calls with dealers near me, and prices ranged from £390 to £600. Had a call with Wimbledon LR to discuss, who confirmed what all was required in this service for my car, and a breakdown of costs.

Called the £390 dealers back; both had quoted the basic service for a 2006 RRS 4.2SC. By adding my chassis number it then comes up with other options for fluid changes; rear locking diff and Dynamic Stability Control. This increased their quotes to £440, but from discussing this with Tom @ Wimbledon LR, they are only increasing by cost of fluids, not valve lock filters which should also be replaced with fluids.

I’m happy to pay the extra £60 to Wimbledon LR, as they know the car, and have been open and honest about what is needed, and I feel I will get the best (customer) service from them as I am an existing, and future customer.

…strange to hear this from a Scotsman!?!? Rolling with laughter

I think that that is a major factor to be honest. Thumbs Up
Although I like a good deal, I wouldn't sacrifice a good relationship just for the sake of a few £'s. It sounds like they have been very open and honest about whats included, which again is a good sign. Thumbs Up ON THE WAY: BMW F21 M140i

hello mrobbie
That responce from the dealer is rubbish, it clearly shows on the maintainance sheet what is required.
The dealers are been dishonest, if they do not adhere to the service scedule they are miss selling a service. Landrover say that that work is required on a service, to keep it in good order.
I had the same problem with my sc, i would only use the company that was fully inclusive on the service.

I'm not sure it's that clear cut. On the Defender a lot of the fluids can be inspected and kept rather than just changed because it says so Thumbs Up ============

i agree with the 90, ive had one for 12 years, but the sc is more performance, the electric locking diff~(for example) needs oil changes within schedule, the oil can be under great pressure and breaks down easily.
It states its on the manufactures service sheet then it should be done, there are advisory extras on the sheet but the manufacturer claims that the scedule is the minimum, to keep the vehicle in good working order.

Very true

Anyway always air on the side of caution - better to change oil than than to change a diff Mike

James....why don't you get Lookers added to the list then we might have a dealer in London Wink

Good idea, seems lookers are losing out to Stratstones on that site Whistle

@ T8OOL - as you say, it's a starting point to haggling Wink

...and losing out to Guy Salmon, looks like they are behind the curve on this one Whistle Proud owner of a 2008 TDV8 HSE.....and an Audi A3 2.0T DSG Cab and a Porsche 911 Turbo (Mercedes W208 320 CLK and Mercedes W124 E220 Estate now gone)

Useful site. I had a look, and it came up with the same dealers that everyone else is mentioning.
Perhaps I'll give them a call to see if other branches of the named dealers are enrolling.
At the mo, the saving is being massively reduced by the fuel cost to get there, plus the faf of waiting around while your vehicle is serviced. Yawn

Update.Just called maindealerdiscount.co.uk and asked if any dealers closer to me were enrolled. They said that if they were, they would have appeared on the results screen when I did my search. Sad
I asked what number of LR dealers were currently enrolled, but she was not prepared to give me that info.
Site is a good idea all the same. Just keeping my fingers crossed that a more local dealer to me enrols before my next service is due Neutral
