First Service

My car is due it's first service at the end of this month and I have been quoted £350.00 inc VAT - is this around the right price in the Surrey area or your area? Would be good to know what others have been quoted especially D3 owners as not many RRS's have not had a service yet. 2005 Zambezi TDV6 - Gone but not forgotten
2009 Alaska TDV8 - Gone and much missed.

United Kingdom 2005 Range Rover Sport TDV6 SE Bonatti Grey

We had our first service at the end of March. It cost £348 inc VAT.
£44+VAT for parts (filters, grease, screen wash etc), £204+VAT labour, £6.91 enviroment charge (I assume they charge now for disposing the old oil), £41.70+VAT for Castrol SLX oil. Matt

RRS ownership for 1 yr, then D3 for 2 yrs. Then cut back to old bangers and working my way back up through two Peugeots in 6 months. Now got Saab 9-5 2.3t and enjoying the performance!

At our local dealer, Hartwells at Oxford, they have a wall board showing all the service prices. I'm sure the diesel RRS was more than a diesel D3. I'll check again when I'm next up there. Matt

£350 is a pretty good price, given that the wife's FL cost £360 for it's first service last year. Which dealer's that?

I'm surprised that the 1st service isn't free! I'm having mine done on 17th May even though I'll have only 10.5k miles up, I don't believe in going over a year between services.

VA, why didn't they do it while they had the car in for repair? 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it
2018 Melting Silver Mini Countryman PHEV - soon to be replaced
2015MY Corris Grey SDv6 HSE Dynamic, the best car I have ever owned, totally reliable only a cou0le of rattles in 3 years, now no longer in my care
Also in my garage is a 1996 TDi300 Defender 90 County HT made into a fake CSW

United Kingdom 2006 Range Rover Sport Supercharged Zermatt Silver

That's not bad for a service on a car like this.
I was quoted £640 for a service on my Jeep. I eventually got it for £399, but let's face it, a Jeep is a tractor, it only needs a shot of oil and a kick to keep it going. The service actually took less than an hour.
When I asked where the money went, I was told Oil filter (£5), fuel filter (say, £10), and oil (say £40). That's a hellavalot of labour!

Bob. RRS 4.2 S/C. Zermatt. Tints. Stormers. 150+ paint defects, wonkey bonnet, scratches, detached doorseal. suspension faults. To sum it up, a 60k pile of cr4p!

Because the loan car I had was not theirs! Being paid by insurance. 2005 Zambezi TDV6 - Gone but not forgotten

There are big differences in what the dealers charge for servicing.
Some of the D3 owners have paid as little as £160.
My dealer wants (but will not get ) £389 and that is their cheaper level, if you want a D3 as a loaner and a 'mini valet' it would be £549.
Quite a few owners have phoned around and then their stealers have priced matched.

Boy are they really sticking it to you guys over there.
First, you pay more for your RRS then in Canada.
Second, all our service is free for four years, and that is getting service every six months.
I think I got it, you guys have more money, Laughing LOL
Cheers,
CR
