2013 Range Rover Sport SDV6 HSE Stornoway Grey

Not sure SuperT, Like the S/C but
a) It's an 8 months old 2nd hand car (Ok strictly a dealers demo)
b) It is a colour that I'm not keen on (Zambesi)
c) I don't need the speed really - and a TDv8 would get to the same speed but a tlittle slower!
d) I'm allergic to petrol pumps having owned diesels for the last 9 years or so
e) My TDv6 is 1 year old on 9th June................ do I really NEED to change a car I am happy with? That is the most difficult question to answer!
f) My name is on the list of TDv8 prospectives, if I decide I don't want it, it will have cost me nothing as there is no deposit involved and the dealer can sell every one he gets in (unless I order a white one and then he will force me to take it!)
g)errrrr I'm trying to justify changing a one year old car here and cannot see any reason to do so..........................
h)If I order a TDv8 then I can have colour/spec I want, even if I have to wait a while.
i) I would like a test drive of a TDv8 before deciding which on to put my money on.
j) Brain and common sense say TDv8 - better residuals, economy etc. even though strictly speaking my relatively small annual mileage and normally short drives don't make diesel sense and a petrol should be the thing to have. I make about 5 journeys to the south annually - currently I can drive there in the v6 for about the same cost as flying.......... in an S/C I would save money by taking the plane but get zero pleasure out of the travelling. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it
2018 Melting Silver Mini Countryman PHEV - soon to be replaced
2015MY Corris Grey SDv6 HSE Dynamic, the best car I have ever owned, totally reliable only a cou0le of rattles in 3 years, now no longer in my care
Also in my garage is a 1996 TDi300 Defender 90 County HT made into a fake CSW

I sense you've already answered my question.

Bear in mind that with dealer demos, salesmen encourage you to tank the car despite it being in the running in period.

This is the time that most damage can be done. Runner up - 2009 Best Avatar Award Sad

Agree with ST here, I have only ever bought one demo car, a Mercedes, and would never do so again. Probably the SC would be even worse as I am sure ther would have been quite a few people want to 'see what it can do'.

If your car is still all you want at the moment, hang on to it for a while, maybe get the TC treatment Wink then see if the TDV8 is worth it when it comes out.

I think I have just about ruled out the S/C!
Now if it was a white S/C they had as a demo it would be so much easier to make a decision! I wouldn't wait for a TDv8 and take the plane when travelling south! 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

I bought a ZZR-600 a good few years back which was a dealer demo.

Needed Gearbox replacing after 3,500 mls as well as fork seals.

For non-bikers, this means during its tenure as a dealer demo it had obviously been wheelied to death!!! Shocked Shocked Shocked Runner up - 2009 Best Avatar Award Sad
