Never seen a stonewashed RRS before

http://www.detailingworld.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?t=249392

As some of you may remember my car came to me somewhat deficient in the paint finish department and I had to get Russ to work his magic on it.
Well I've just seen this on Detailing World and I think you will agree that its an amazing turnaround for a car that was so badly neglected by its previous owner,I think he must have been using the Stevie Wonder £6 car wash in Chesterfield !!! MY2011 HSE Santorini/Ivory/Piano Black/Privacy Glass/TV .Sadly gone.

So to be clear that car came as it was from Gordon Lamb ,I hope to God that they are paying for the remedial work Russ has had to do?
Mine was in there last week and was due to go back for some warranty work when the parts arrive.
How on earth did that get through PDI with the paintwork in that condition.
I'm glad I put my "Do not wash" card on the dash !!!!!
It looks the absolute dogs danglies now ,think it might even be shinier than mine Wink MY2011 HSE Santorini/Ivory/Piano Black/Privacy Glass/TV .Sadly gone.

To be fair, most dealers don't see that sort of condition as a problem and it was probably traded in in that state. Quick slap of 'polish' on it at PDI and it probably looked ok to most people. Shocked
Hopefully the purchaser was able to negotiate some money off to go towards the detail. Question
If i did ever buy a second hand car, the first thing is get done it have it properly detailed, it's amazing what a difference it can make, especially on darker coloured cars Thumbs Up ON THE WAY: BMW F21 M140i

I think it refers to the fact that the sponge used to wash it must have had lots of stone/grit in it. This has then scratched the paintwork. In effect, it's an insult to the guy who washed the car during its former ownership. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

Mike
To achieve the same effect pop some pumice powder into your clay and rub around in a circular motion Thumbs Up MY2011 HSE Santorini/Ivory/Piano Black/Privacy Glass/TV .Sadly gone.

T8OOL - I would hazard a guess that somewhere between £200 and £400 for a decent detail like that.
If you're considering one, Rob @ Gleam Machine (based in Thurrock) is probably the closest and gets good reviews, you can check out his work on www.detailingworld.co.uk Thumbs Up ON THE WAY: BMW F21 M140i
