Any one know if télépéage will work mounted in the RRS

Ive finally got round to getting a APRR télépéage for automatic payment on the French toll roads, as having 3 week in the South of france. Has anyone tried mounting the unit by the rear view mirror, does it work there?
The blackened area around the rear view mirror is supposed to be for fitting such a device (no heated screen) but they do not work on all screens due to heat reflective coatings etc.
So basically can i fit it or do i have to hold it out of the window, any one with experience please advise.

Only problem is I am not sure if the disco and the RRS have identical screens, eg heated and filters built into the glass
so may work fine with one but not the other.

Tag is the only way to do Autoroutes, especially if one up. Works great in a D3 so no reason why not in a RRS. Was over in France 4 times last year & noticed that more & more (now virtually all) lanes accept the tags, just drive up & the tag pings, off ya go. Smile Just don't hang back from the barrier, you have to be fairly close. You got a roofrack? If not you can whizz through the >2.0m lane without stopping. If roofrack, some now have high vehicles 30kph lanes for tags only. If your worried that it's the first use if the tag and you it might not work, go into a "normal" ticket issueing lane (with a T over it), if your tag beeps it's fine, if not take the ticket. It'll be fine though.

Re mounting, in the dotted area around the mirror works great, I use the same mount for my M6Toll tag. Job's a good un. Smile

Will be fine, nothing too fancy on a RRS that's not on a D3. It works fine through the heating elements. The "dotty" area around the mirror seems to be designed for tag devices to go. I'd be very suprised that it doesn't work on a RRS. As above, there is a way of checking that it works. Besides, do you think French RRS drivers are going to tolerate waiting in a queue of the great unwashed at the peage booth? Whistle

PS mine is an APRR tag, great service from them & so good not having to climb over the gearstick to get the ticket. Also good on-line as you can check your usage & toll segments. Easypeasy.

I first used it for my 2010 Tunisia trip, meant no climbing over the centre consul to pull the ticket, especiallyas many of the smaller exits are unmanned so you've got to get the card into the slot. Apart from that the real plus is whizzing past massive lines of traffic, it's great seeing the peeps who have overtaken you stuck in the lines. Helps with the long haul mind games. Smile

Netherlands 2005 Range Rover Sport TDV6 HSE Buckingham Blue

I have been using the electronic device for automatic payment in Spain for years.
Did not stick it fixed to any part of the Range, since i like to keep it clean...
So i hold it close to the window at fore head level and always works fine!

Thumbs Up SW

I always thought the dots were to fill in the gap between the two sun visors - nice they serve a dual purpose! ============

ISTR that when sorting out siting the M6Toll tag they said it was for this, on my 520 it only works in the area.
