Would you claim for personal injury if you were actually fine?

Would you claim insurance for whiplash/injury even if okay?

Thought that this might make a good talking point as I seemed to stir up some feelings with a throw away joke on this post http://www.rrsport.co.uk/forum/topic25351.html

So, if someone ran into you 100% their fault but you got away with no personal harm only damage to the car would you be one to claim for personal injury, or would you just be thankful you were not hurt?

I'll start, Been rear ended twice, walked away twice and it never even crossed my mind to claim.

Bullet Thumbs Up

Edit:- I added the pole so as no one would have to admit to anything in a post they perhaps did'nt want out there as public knowledge. RRS TDV8 (loving it)

I agree Dave, the litigious attitudes that seem to have came over from America in the past 10-20 years is dragging this country down. It's amazing that as soon as someone fells they are hard done by they go straight to the how can I make money out of this mindset. RRS TDV8 (loving it)

If hurt, I would claim, if i Wasn't I wouldn't waste my time, after having a bad rear end and suffering for weeks after whilst bouncing around on a Kenyan safari in pain, the payout was about £2k, but the health checkups, X-rays, questionnaires etc were a PITA

Came down to the fact that if I was hurt I should have cancelled my holiday of a lifetime on safari that I was flying out on 4 days after the crash, at some points I wish I had, but the pain was worth it

I know of someone who's insurance company tried to get him to claim even though he wasn't hurt, terrible Evil or Very Mad

I absolutely detest the loathsome cockroach scum that call themselves injury lawyers pushing people to make false claims.

I had a small accident early last year in my old Merc. All was fine with very minor bumper damage. For about 4 months after it though, I just kept getting continual text messages from this scum saying that they knew I had been in an accident and I could claim up to £4k for my injuries....even though I didn't have any !

The insurance companies are also to blame for releasing this information to them Evil or Very Mad
On the one hand they complain about fraudulent claims driving premiums up and on the other hand, they provide the fuel that keeps the blaze burning.

For the record, I would never make a false claim, apart from it being fraudulent, it is morally and ethically wrong Proud owner of a 2008 TDV8 HSE.....and an Audi A3 2.0T DSG Cab and a Porsche 911 Turbo (Mercedes W208 320 CLK and Mercedes W124 E220 Estate now gone)
