If you can, get yourself along to your local ROSPA child seat fitting centre.
http://www.childcarseats.org.uk/advice/index.htm

You'd be amazed how many car seats are fitted incorrectly, even ISOfix ones.
They offer the service for free and will try a number of seats to tell you which ones fit the best.
I know if seems a pain, but we did it for each car we had and it gave great piece of mind that the seats were fitted correctly Thumbs Up ON THE WAY: BMW F21 M140i

United Kingdom 2011 Range Rover Sport 3.0 TDV6 HSE Fuji White

I would echo the above. While test driving different cars looking for a second car for the wife, we popped to the place where we had ordered our car seats/pushchair etc from to see if the seat would fit in the car we were testing. The salesman had left their seat fitted in the back, and the advisor insisted that he refit the salesmans seat (who wasnt with us) before we left as it was unsafe. 10 second job and it was secured properly.

We went for the britax baby seat after looking at the demonstrations between the various models. The shop also took both model apart, so you could see the various impact protection and structure of each seat to demonstrate the differences too. They stock and sell both britax and maxi-cosy so had no particular axe to grind. It was interesting to see the various ones demonstrated and the inner workings/design of them.

The place we went to was called Stork Talk in Ilkeston if anyone is interested. RRS 3.0D HSE 11MY - Fuji White, a few extras.
