is it just me..

Or is every car i buy, new or used.. never ever perfect..

This past few months, we bought a audi A8 for my father, which had to be returned to the dealership to have some stuff rectified (easy stuff which should have been spotted by the apparent vigourous check it went through). Auto boot lid mechanism was bust, and no 2nd car key. (finnally paid for after a rude letter to them..)

The RS4 delivered, but the bluetooth wasn't working, subsequent take back to Audi 3 times, leading to the problem being rectified fully last week. (after various phonecalls to other dealers, Audi customer services blah de blah..)

The finnally, last week,
Mercedes Benz picked up, 2 alloys scuffed and rear bumper slights scuffed and condition of the interior load mat very bad.. Not at all how a merc direct vehicle should be expected. Made loads of noise on the spot, and the sales guys looked at me weirdly, like what were u expecting a perfect car? Censored me off more, that they tried to fob me off.. i got the sales manager out to me, and he looked at the car, agreed, yep no prob will get them done. (even though it should have been done before hand! Censored incompetant pricks.. ur job isn't that hard!!).. promised me a phonecall back on saturday, and nothing, i phoned them, yeah mate will give u a call monday to arrange with service, nothing.. left two messages, no call back.. Ring today, both the salesman and manager are on hol till thursday..
Right, so demanded to speak with someone, and they put me through to the dodgiest cockiest dick salesman in the land, and he was sooo rude, i asked him to book the car in, and he did.. on the 23RD of this month!! i said thats no good, i want this done this week..
he said can't.. i said but what if we do more damage to the car before then, he said.. look, we're mercedes.. we aren't a retailer, we aren't like the others, if he (sales manager) said he'll sort it, he will sort it.. (what a prick..as if he even said that, and in the most brummiest accent you can imagine!)
told him, this will have to do, until adam gets back in (my sales guy) and we can speak to him then, he said fine..

but in reality, a call has been logged with their customer services department, and im trying to get a free set of mats out of them, so lets see what i can get! hate dealers mostly, but merc get right up my nose, because they still actually think, they are selling a more superior product!

Spot on. I found this when we had our ML and the way the local Merc dealer staff dealt with their customers turned me right off the brand. Matt

i managed to escalate this quite quickly, got up to the Dp and customer services, car will be picked up tommorow, courtesy vehicle dropped and the items will be rectified, lets hope so too!

DP says, completely understandable, i would be very angry if i was you! seemed to get they have really p'eed me off here, but they have promised to sort, so lets see.

Wish they would just get it right the first time, would make it all so much more convenient!!

Same here when we had our ML... The guys at our Mercedes dealer were total pricks Confused
We don't want a Mercedes anymore, also because Mercedes has a (bad) reputation here in Holland.

We also had loads of problems with the ML!

I'd not buy Merc ever following experience when I was comparing Merc with 330Ci - never took me seriously and I had even to insure car for test drive Tos***s.... bought the 330 and never regretted it...

Well the lexus is200 se we used to own, 3 years of driving it (ragging it around sometimes too) led to zero warranty claims, no defects, no problems, nada, nothing...

we even forgot to service it once! which we had to pay for when we sold the car. Bought it for £15k sold it for £8k 3 years later.. so decent on depreciation too..

Seems Lexus can do no wrong when it comes to reliability. If only they made cars that weren't as dull as a dull thing.

yeah even though it never went wrong the IS200.. was very slow, and not very economical.. seems toyota have too much money to really try.. if they expanded some of their budget they could bury Bmw/Merc in the european market. If they did buy LR, now that would be interesting..
