A FORD FIESTA!!! thats actually a joke!!! i was beginning to think that maybe i was being a snob by complaining about this matter, but now i know your prepared to pay extra just to ensure you get a decent car in return!!! Landrover really do treat their customers as if they have only just bought a £200 metro!!! makes me laugh!!! work hard.....play even harder |

I can understand your point to an extent, but once u hit a certain point in the market it becomes non cost effective to supply brand cars. My local dealers doesn't have many courtesy cars but the ones they do have are Discos if i remember correctly. I would be a bit disappointed if dropping my car off and was assured a courtesy car to find it was a mondeo but it would get me from A to B in the interim and is much better than having to get public transport.

a cars a car, you cant really expect your garage to have a fleet of RRS on beck and call for servicing, one or two as demo car or each model, i would say is about normal, then a handful for freelanders as service cars.

The thinking used to be by loaning the next model up you made the customer think about an upgrade - but I guess now we are in a recession

I also find this approach by LR dealers very poor and gives out a negative image.

"RR Spy", i think you just nailed my point exactly!! i left LR feeling disappointed, and like a second rate customer. if we work hard to buy something like an LR, then we expect HIGH LR standards to go with their HIGH LR PRICES!!. Problem is, i dnt really think LR see their customers as worthy of this. Audi, Mercedes, and many other leading brands can manage to give their customers nice Courtesy cars, regardless of whether its economical or not. if we were sooooo bothered about being economical, i dnt think anyone would by a LR!!! work hard.....play even harder |

I don't think it is that uneconomical for the dealer. They register a few cars, use them for Test Drives and courtesy cars and then sell them on in 6-9 months on their Used lot as nearly new. In the meantime, they raise the perceived level of customer service and maybe persuade a few customers to trade-up or across to a newer model. I've booked my RRS in for some warranty work (hopefully it'll be covered anyway!). Need a car so I'm having to wait 2 weeks for a slot when they have a car available!

i dont understand how they are charging you!!! thats surely unfair for work carried out under warranty!!? i wouldn't get your hopes up to high for a decent courtesy car, by the sounds of it so far, LR are TIGHT!! and i mean that in the cheap sort of way! work hard.....play even harder |
