Mark I think the best thing for u to do is get both the EGR valves removed and blanked off mate. You don't need them on our cars and they cause nothing but bother and are expensive tp replace , plus u get better performance when they are gone. I had the same trouble with mine, got them removed and blanked for 100quid and never looked back. Am sure a few other people on here wud advise the same. Don't worry bowt it tho it's common and easily sorted n youl b back to enjoying yor new motor once again. Thumbs Up

Doesn't removing them hamper fuel economy though?

hi,forgot i put this topic on.! thanks for advice but since put this i have had both egr's replaced now at landrover.i am a very lucky boy as i joined the aa when bought car and the guy on the phone talked me into having aa "breakdown repair cover" the 1st egr replacement cost £400 which i paid for and the aa sent me back a chq in less than a week for £365..! have to pay £35 excess.when i called aa out again they confirmed it was the other egr and blanked it and car ran great.! took it in to landrover and again aa said they would pay.! same again i paid and chq should be here any day.! not bad as i only have paid the £11.33 so far which is my monthly cost.! would of blanked i think if i was paying but i well recommend this to everyone..! you can only claim 5 times a year and upto £500 max per claim,so was very lucky they did them seperate or bill would of been £800 and they would of only paid me back £500 minus £35 excess.!!! my mpg as gone up now from 20.4 to around 22.5-23.5.!! is this about right for driving local.? plus i have been told my car is chipped.? so dont no if to take off and see if its better or worse.???? landrover did confirm it was a plug in one and its working correct, so any idea's on this please.?
