Just had a new windscreen installed after my 4th trip to dealer to have auto light switch corrected resulted in a cracked shield.Because mine is a 2009, my insurance company said they would not pay for the Land Rover/Pilkington stamped screen, only the Pilkington stamped screen. If I wanted the Land Rover stamped I would have to pay the extra $250. They are both stamped 682 which means they came from the same place of manufacture. I was told it is not a second an does not have irregularities. Does anyone know the difference?? It went in very easy and looks great. Happy Holidays to all! Mike mike murphy

Have had 3 Pilkington only replacement screens on my 2 D3s & no issues whatsoever, couldn't see the difference between an OEM & Pilkington only screen. But some of my friends on D3side disagree with me and think I'm kind of loopy.

Same screen, same manufacturer, same production line (probably), same part number. The only difference is that the day your replacement was made they didn't add the ($250) land rover logo.

LR screen is made and bought from pilkington comes to the Insurer from LR at their retail
Pilkington screen comes direct from the manufacturer to the Insurer at trade price

In the uk you can stipulate that u want an OEM ie LR stamped screen rather than the non stamped pilkington one, i have done so each time for no other reason that i can
