Qatar 2007 Range Rover Sport 4.4 V8 HSE Buckingham Blue
RRS Engine Vibrates/oscillates in a Cyclic Manner

Hi Guys. Long time Smile

I need your help on this one please. I've been suffering from constant Engine Surge/Vibration
while stuck in traffic or at traffic signs when my shift lever is on the "N" position.

The body of the RRS vibrates/oscillates in a cyclic manner. It is quite annoying Big Cry

I took it twice to the stealer. First they claimed my car needs the Injectors cleaned and made
me pay for that (outside the warranty they said). The second time, they said they needed to replace
the Spark Plugs to get rid of that problem and made me pay again as well.

I came across this Bulletin on TOPIX that might be related to my problem:
LS303-016 - Range Rover Sport - Engine Surge/Vibration at Constant Speed

The stealer is now claiming that it is most likely a problem with the fuel pedal and probably needs cleaning or tuning Confused

What do you think?

United Kingdom 2010 Range Rover Sport Supercharged Santorini Black

I came across a similar problem, but with a different car. Interestingly/Strangely enough, the problem appeared to be the low engine coolant level. Vadim A.

Is it the 4.4 V8 or 4.2 S/C ?

If it's the 4.4, get the dealer to check / clean the throttle body. Worst case scenario is it needs replacing because the butterfly's gummed up and overstressed the butterfly motor. Also get them to check the breather valve on the left hand side of the engine (as you look at it from the front), it may have popped if the TB's on the fritz.

I've had the same problem and unfortunately, in some cases it's just a characteristic of your engine. Bloody annoying though. Ex-G4 Challenge RRS HSE, BV55 YZE. Subtle shade of orange ! Now registered YZE481 G4RRS in Melbourne.
